Before students participate in GeometryWeb here are the guiding rules of the course.
- GeometryWeb will work with this website along with a wiki located at, http://geometryweb.wikispaces.com/,, among different sub topic websites each week. It is the student’s responsibility to have reliable access to these sites and if any of the links do not work inform the instructor at jvrtis@lths.net about it as soon as possible.
- All communication will take place through http://geometryweb.wikispaces.com/. This communication must be respectful in manner. Any communication that is derogatory in nature, disrespectful to any race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation will not be tolerated. Communication explicit in nature will also not be allowed. Violation in communication will result in removal from the course.
- Posting and links to outside website, must be Geometric, Mathematical, or Educational in nature. Posting links to inappropriate websites will result in removal from the course.
- Each topic is broken down into three week units. A new topic will be activated every three weeks on 8:00AM (CST) Monday.
- Each topic will be broken into three parts
Week 1 Investigation (Definition and information)
Week 2 Exploration (Manipulation and representation)
Week 3 Assessment (Summary and evaluation)
- Each week at 8:00AM (CST) Monday one of the three part (investigation, Exportation, or Assessment) will be posted. Check GeometryWeb for the subtopic and http://geometryweb.wikispaces.com/ for the discussion.
- Students will be responsible to have their first posting to topic prompts http://geometryweb.wikispaces.com/ done my 5:00PM (CST) on the Wednesday of that week. Each week will have 2 to 5 prompts.
- Postings should include response to that week’s topic prompt on http://geometryweb.wikispaces.com/ and (when requested) a jpg image of a screen shot of work on the website.
- Students will then be required to respond to at least two students postings by 5:00PM (CST) on the Saturday of that week.
- Responses and postings should be insightful. It is more important to put thought into student posting rather than trying to attempt to complete the posting requirements. It is more important to have comments that include details ofthe topic, including your thoughts, rather than having getting a few sentences on http://geometryweb.wikispaces.com/ as quick as possible.
- On Week 3 of the topic (Assessment) students will be required to complete the required posting for the week and complete an evaluation of their knowledge
- .Students will be evaluated according to this rubric.
